ISIF 2008 Manuscript Submittal Instructions
ISIF2008 Special Issue of Journal of Applied Physics
Papers presented in ISIF2008 in Singapore will be published in a special issue of Journal of Applied Physics (JAP) after selection and review. The Journal of Applied Physics is one of the two archival journals of the American Institute of Physics, which publishes significant new results in applied physics.
The JAP editor indicated that JAP will publish only 50 papers in the special issue of the ISIF08. Therefore, only the top 50 papers presented at the ISIF08 will be chosen for publishing in the special JAP issue. Thus, the selection and review process will be very stringent. The papers to be included in the special issue should represent the most forefront contributions in ISIF2008 in the various areas of fundamental and applied science of integrated ferroelectrics and their applications. The papers that will be submitted to the special issue of JAP should have adequate understanding of the underlying materials science, physics and/or device physics rather than simply description of materials processing, device fabrications, or characterization results. However, significant breakthroughs in any technology aspects related to integrated ferroelectrics will also be considered for inclusion in the special JAP issue.
The authors of the papers submitted to the special JAP issue need to understand that the papers will be reviewed by the referees from the JAP pool of referees and will be subjected to the JAP review standards.
The authors of papers that are not selected for publishing in the special issue of JAP will be free to submit their papers to any journal of their choice, including JAP. They could indicate in their manuscript that the paper was presented at the ISIF08.
All the extended abstracts by the registered presenters in ISIF2008 will be included in the abstract CDs, which will be distributed among all the conference delegates together with the program books.
For all the submissions to be considered for the JAP special issue, the authors should pay attentions to following instructions:
- The preparation of the manuscripts must follow the general guidelines for publications in JAP, which are available at http://jap.aip.org/jap/submit.jsp.
- The authors must submit their manuscripts through the JAP on-line submission system at http://jap.peerx-press.org/cgi-bin/main.plex, by 30 June 2008.
- The authors must indicate that the manuscripts are submitted to “ISIF2008 Special Issue” in JAP in the cover letters and select the corresponding submission category during the on-line submission.
- The session name/number, registration User ID number and the abstract ID number in ISIF2008 should be provided in the cover letter.
- A duly signed transfer of copyright agreement form is required for publication in JAP. No claim is made to original U.S. Government works. Upload a signed AIP Transfer of Copyright Agreement Form (available at http://ftp.aip.org/aipdocs/forms/copyrght.pdf) when submitting an original or revised manuscript to the journal's online submission site.
- The authors do not need to pay any page charges if without any color figures. However, the authors must bear the cost for publishing any color figures in their papers.
- One registered author should not submit more than one manuscript for the selection and review for the JAP special issue.
- There is a limit for the number of journal pages for each paper in the JAP special issue: for the plenary paper, not more than 10 pages; for the invited paper, not more than 8 pages; and for the regular contributed paper, not more than 6 pages.
